The Young Haitian American Professionals Society, also known as YHAPS, is a federally registered 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that promotes educational, professional, and personal development of Haitian-born high school students. We are committed to empowering students to realize their academic potentials, to become professionals, and to contribute toward a better society. Through the Empowering for Academic Growth and Leadership Excellence (EAGLE) after-school program, YHAPS helps students who are struggling due to language barriers to meet five goals: increase academic and social achievement; develop a more positive attitude toward school, learning and self; become involved in extracurricular activities; increase involvement of parents in students' education; and gain acceptance into post-secondary schools after high school graduation.
